This is relevant to you because algorithms suck sometimes. But where is Janelle Monae’s Pynk, which I streamed at least 50 times over the course of a week, on my top 100 playlist? I don’t even recognize at least a third of the songs on that playlist. Then I remembered that 2018 was the year I began listening to podcasts a lot, so maybe I have just been replacing my Spotify Time with Podcast Time. I for one was a little irritated that my Spotify Wrapped was more a loose sampling than an overall snapshot of my listening habits. A common complaint this year (and last year) was that the so-called personalized stats were just wrong or only partially correct. It seems like people enjoy seeing their listening data broken down into pretty little slides, but it also seems like people often don’t agree with how the data represents them.

On that very same day, I asked the bloggers to share their stats with me, because we are curious beavers who eat data. Spotify Wrapped day and the festivities surrounding it happened a long time ago.
